Radon Transform application for rotation invariant texture analysis using Gabor filters

چکیده

This paper presents a new approach of rotation invariant texture analysis. Robust rotation invariant textures are important for digital image libraries and multimedia database. Here a method for application of rotation variant Traditional Gabor Filter (TGF) for rotation invariant texture analysis is presented. The orientation of the texture is determined using radon transformation. Once the rotational angle is known, the texture can be identified either by restoring the original angle of the texture before application of TGF or by applying TGF for the rotated version of texture, if available. The experimental evaluation of the features is presented using Brodatz texture database.
